George Hospital is a 210 bed regional hospital for the Southern Cape region. There are 10 full-time and 16 part-time specialists on the staff. The hospital is divided in all the main departments and provides a 24-hour accident and emergency service.

Activities students might participate in:
As much as possible with general patients, under supervision
Not in ICU'S and HCUS

Details regarding accommodation, meals and transport:

• Meals are available.
• Transport is not too bad, however the hospital is within walking distance of centre of town.
• There is no hospital accomodation available. Lots of self-catering units in town as well as beach houses are more easily available out of season.
  

Kinds of students that are accepted:

• Medicine, Physio And OT - Last 2 Clinical Years
• South African Universities Only
