Bursary Information

The HIV Clinicians Society offers bursaries to enable doctors and other healthcare workers to attend the 13th Annual RUDASA Rural Health Conference in Broederstroom, North West Province, from 27 – 29 August 2009.

The bursaries are available to members of the Society, particularly those working in rural and other under-resourced areas.

Bursaries will cover the conference registration fee, and each successful applicant will receive the sum of R2, 200.00, to assist with travel and accommodation costs, upon proven attendance at the conference.  The Society will organize the registration of successful applicants and pay the registration fee directly to the conference. Please do NOT register for the Conference if you intend to apply for a bursary.

Bursaries will only be awarded to members of the Society members whose annual membership fees have been paid in full at the time of the closing date for applications.

Please note that the Society cannot arrange, or pay for transport and accommodation – this will be the responsibility of the individual.  Bursary recipients who fail to attend the conference after we have paid their registration fees will be required to refund the Society for all expenses incurred.

1. A brief outline of involvement in the field of HIV in a rural area.
2. A letter of support from applicant’s manager/supervisor.
3. A letter detailing a commitment to feed back, to colleagues, information gained at the conference.
4. Contact information, including a telephone or cell number, an e-mail address or fax number, and an indication of whether or not you are a RUDASA member.
